Xie Xin, the founder of ONE ArtCenter, artistic director of  Xiexin Dance Theatre, artistic director of the the Great Bay Area (GBA) Dance Festival in Shenzhen, the associate artist of the Shanghai International Dance Center Theatre, and curator of the Vanguard Body independent dance clothing brand.

She is the first famale Chinese choreographer commissioned in the history of Opéra de Paris and Hamburg Ballet. She has been commissioned by Venice Biennale in Italy, the Hessisches Staatsballett in Germany, the Berne Ballet in Switzerland, the BalletBoyz in the UK, and the Factory International in Manchester UK.

 

Xie Xin's representative works include "From IN", "T.I.M.E", “In Saite & The Rite of Spring”, "Obsession", "TIMELESS", "The Broken Sense Of Beauty", "When I Am Facing U", "Lost In The Gap", "Ripple", "Horizon", "Special Moment",etc.

 

The Tanz magazine describes the Chinese choreographer Xie Xin as follows: "She infuses air and love into her dance. This is 'the will from water - Xie Xin's dance postures are like waves spreading from a single point - never ceasing, sometimes slow, sometimes splashing." 

Bruno Heynderickx, the artistic director of Hessisches Staatsballet said "her movement language is completely different from anything I've seen in Europe." 

Jorma Uotinen, the then artistic director of the Kuopio Dance Festival in Finland, commented: “In Xie Xin's work, I have found the future I haven’t found in the development of European modern dance. Her works have extremely sensitive uniqueness and specificity”.
