On this occasion, Bern Ballet has invited three choreographers – Xie Xin, Lesley Telford (Canada), and Marioenrico D'Angelo (Italy) – to create works around the theme of ZWIELICHTER, drawing inspiration from observation, introspection and reflection. In ZWIELICHTER, light and shadow interweave, blurring reality into an elusive haze. In such a state of ambiguity, meticulous observation and in-depth analysis seem all but impossible. We can neither discern the full picture nor grasp definitive truths. Much like the fading light of dusk, our very existence is filled with vagueness and uncertainty. In these three contemporary dance pieces, these blurred boundaries carve out space for the extraordinary, the unfamiliar, and conflicting emotions.
