Murmur takes place in a liminal space between life and death — a purgatory where time feels suspended and direction is uncertain. Within this in-between realm, two portals stand as possible passages, yet their meaning remains unclear. They may offer escape, return, or dissolution, but no path is guaranteed.

Lost souls wander this shifting landscape, bound together by a shared sense of disorientation and longing. Each one searches for something — an exit, a memory of life, a fragment of hope — yet none can find the way alone. They reach for one another instinctively, forming fragile networks of support. Bodies lean, lift and carry, but the strength they offer each other is never quite enough. They are both rescuers and the ones in need of rescue.

As they attempt to navigate the space, different souls are drawn toward different portals, trying various ways to pass through. Every attempt falters. Some hesitate, some turn back, some are pulled away before they can cross. The search becomes cyclical — an ongoing effort without resolution.

Within this restless movement, the full spectrum of human existence emerges. Chaos and survival instincts surface as urgency grows; bodies push, pull, and cling in desperation. Yet alongside this struggle, moments of profound care appear — gestures of tenderness, sacrifice, and quiet generosity. Even in their weakness, the souls continue to choose connection.

Murmur traces this delicate balance between holding and being held, between self-preservation and

compassion. In constant transformation, the piece reveals a world where uncertainty is the only certainty, and where the smallest act of support becomes an act of love in the face of the unknown.

SET: Cave as inspiration. We would like to get the feeling that we are in the closed vast space. To realise it, the idea is to have simple structure made of stiff paper with central hole and light passing through it.

Reflective black dance floor. In length would be nice if the ceiling is corresponding to the dimension of the floor. Idea of 2 portals.
